You’ve got yourself a two-dollar-off coupon for a family-size box of Pop Tarts. Congrats. However, I promise no one is forcing you to buy them even with this killer steal. It is time for you to break that magnetic pull that compels you to use every last one of your coupons before they expire, and start thinking about what you really should be buying for your pantry. I’m not suggesting that you remove the junk food from your house cold turkey. You’d have a child rampage on your hands! Your kids will definitely notice if all the Pop Tarts and chips have been replaced with tomatoes and broccoli. That adjustment is difficult and mostly unrealistic. Instead, get sneaky and try out these healthier recipes rather than the store-bought junk food. Tell your kids that Nestlé is just changing their creative direction. Or you could be honest if that’s your parenting method of choice. The adjustment to healthy food is exponentially easier when it looks similar and tastes just as good, if not better, than the old junk food. You might just see your kids becoming even more active rather than falling on the couch while trying to digest their trans fat intake.
