1. The Oasis Zoo Run

Location: Toronto, CA

Date:  September 20, 2014
 

The Oasis Zoo Run is a charity walk and run that raises money for the Toronto Zoo’s conservation programs. A popular race in the Canada Running Series’, this event attracts both the recreational and competitive runner. All race participants receive a souvenir t-shirt and medal for completing the race. Afterwards, runners along with their friends and family can indulge in food and drinks at the post race party site.

2. Variety’s Superhero Run

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Date:  September 20, 2014

The Variety’s Superhero Run offers an excellent opportunity for people to showcase their most outrageous crime fighting uniforms and unlock the inner superhero within. This 5k race and 1 mile fun run benefits Variety – The Children’s Charity of Greater Philadelphia. From Superman to Green Lantern, friends, families and community partners unite at this event dressed  as their favorite superhero to help make a difference in the lives of children with physical and developmental disabilities.  Awards are given to the  top finishers in the race. In addition, individuals and groups have the chance to win in other categories such as “Best Individual Costume”, “Best Family/Group Costume”, and “Best Children’s Costume”.  

3. The Hot Chocolate 15/5k Run

Location: Denver, CO

Date: October 5, 2014

Coined as Americans Sweetest Race, The Hot Chocolate 15/5k, leads runners in the most scenic spots of Chicago. This race  features a family friendly zone complete with a bouncy castle, as well as scrumptious chocolate treats at the post-race party in Grand Park. All 15k  finishers receive an official Hot Chocolate Medal to celebrate their wonderful accomplishment. With race events across 8 cities in the United States, this race draws over 200,000 participants nationwide positioning itself as one of the most fastest growing races in the nation.

4. The Run 4 Hope 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run

Location: West Windsor, NJ

Date: October 25, 2014

The Run 4 Hope 5k Run is a hidden gem located in the heart of West Windsor, New Jersey. The course sends runners through the scenic landscapes of Mercer County Park, allowing them to connect with nature, while honoring the fighters and survivors of cancer. From free fresh frozen yogurt to awe inspiring clay plot demonstrations, this event is the ultimate experience for the whole family. This family friendly friendly event is monitored by the Twin “W” First Aid Squad to ensure a safe and fun environment for all of its attendees. The proceeds from this event benefit The Marna Pal Memorial College Scholarship Fund, where scholarships are awarded to students whose families have been affected by cancer. All participants can choose to run in the 5k race or 1 mile fun run, and receive a free t-shirt if they register before October 25th. Top finishers are awarded medals for their marvelous achievement.

5. Dash 5K and Doggie Run

Location: Washington, DC

Date: November 2, 2014  

Dog owners and their canine companions will be barking with excitement after attending this great event. The Dash 5K challenges runners by beginning the race in the the steep hills of Kennedy Street NW, and ending at the gorgeous Rock Creek Park. The Doggie Run on the other hand offers, their precious pooch the chance to participate in the 1 mile fun run/walk. Runners and their furry four-legged friends can also enter the costume contest where they have the opportunity to win prizes for their creative getup.  

6. City to the Sea Race

Location: San Luis Obispo, CA

Date:  Oct. 14 2014

The City to the Sea Half Marathon is a great place for runners and families looking to enjoy a weekend of running and California sunshine.  This half marathon begins in downtown San Luis Obispo and ends in the stunning Pismo Beach. This family-friendly race encourages young runners to stay active and offers a fun-run for kids ages 10 and under. The run is led by Cal Poly STRIDE team leaders and all finishers receive a race bib and an exciting prize. After the race, they can enjoy even more fun with entertaining activities at  the “Kid Zone”. Proceeds from the event benefit the Cuesta College cross-country and track and field programs.

7. The 5K Dance Party

Location: Chicago, Il

Date: October 4, 2014

Party animals and exercise enthusiasts will find common ground at this spectacular event. The 5K Dance Party is an untimed 5k Run where the course is  separated into five sections, each themed to their own genre.  Participants  receive an official 5K Dance Party T-shirt, LED gear, fanny pack, and tattoo. Children under 8 years old can register for free. Upon finishing, runners can get their groove on at the epic post-race dance party, full of food, games, and music.
